Bio:
Al'vani was born into the Chiss Ascendency, where they looked down on the force and those born with it (along with almost everyone else). Her parents, however, both in fields that required them to research and discover the world in a way that was less restricted and rigid than their society as a whole, were curious about the force and the systems and planets outside of their own. When Al'vani was born, her parents realized that perhaps Chiss space wasn't the place that they wanted to raise their daughter. They valued peace and wanted to live away from the rigid rules and restrictions of their society.
After a few years, Al'vani's parents smuggled her out of the system, however, their ship was attacked by Vagaari slavers on the edges of the Unknown Regions.
Al'vani was placed in an escape pod and went unnoticed in the carnage and debris left behind by the Vagaari. Al'vani floated through space and was picked up after nearly a week by a smuggler crew. Seeing a benefit to having an underling that he could raise from a young age, the leader of the crew took Al'vani under his wing, teaching her how to lie, cheat, and get what she wanted, all without getting caught. However, when she was 15, her crew came under fire after a deal gone wrong.
Not wanting to see Al'vani killed, she was instructed by her mentor himself to hand him over. Blinded by gold lust, the bounty hunters didn't think to question her motivations, and with a heavy heart, Al'vani left behind her brief smuggling ways.
With nowhere else to turn and alone in the universe, Al'vani found herself drawn to the very thing that so abruptly shattered her world- bounty hunting. She made her way to Hutta and, using the skills she had acquired as a smuggler, began her bounty hunting career in earnest. She hated taking a life if she felt there was a way to avoid it, and got great satisfaction out of hoodwinking imperials, taking the money for their jobs while simultaneously taking money to let the would-be victims go.
A year or so into her fledgling bounty hunter career, Al’vani met a marauder Mandalorian of clan Fett named Tir'jor Vellenik who was tracking the same target she was. They met each other at either end of their respective blasters. He was stubborn and Al’vani actually enjoyed the challenge of negotiating a deal on the bounty with him, with the agreement being that they work together and split the creds.
When the job was over, Al’vani turned to go her separate way when he grasped onto her arm and held her back. Even hidden behind visors, there was no mistaking the spark that passed between them.
For 6 months the two of them chased each other throughout the galaxy, stalking the same victims when they weren’t searching for the other. It was a tantalizing game of cat and mouse until finally he proposed. Al’vani accepted, believing for the first time that life could be good and truly special.
Three days before they were to be wed, Al’vani and Tir’jor found themselves caught up in a skirmish between republic and imperial forces. Before her very eyes, her fiance, the only light in her solitary life, was killed. Her heart shattered that day.
She buried him, claimed his armor, and had it refitted for herself. The light that he had ignited in her had gone out. She became a hollowed out version of herself, even more lonely than ever before.
She continues her solitary hunting ways. She doesn’t get close to anyone. Only when she removes her armor at the end of the day and traces her fiance's tattooed name over her heart does she allow herself to feel alive.
