Character Biography:
Born as Alexzandar Barsail, he was the son of Alderaanian nobles from house Thul. His parents had a very high standing in the Empire and their family was guaranteed great things. However apparently due to a failed job his parents were stripped of their nobility and power. This was due to the Tessar's betrayal against the Barsail line. Alex festered his hatred deep within his heart, why had the Tessar's betrayed his family? Because of their actions everything was taken from the Barsails, Alex's royalty and his rightful future.
Alex's family fell apart, his mother left to marry some rich stranger and his father stayed behind to watch over his son, however the stress got to him and he became a raging abusive alcoholic. Alex was forced to take up a job at a young age to pay for their food and shelter. After hearing his fathers many angered rants, Alex finally after much research found that there was a Tessar that was residing within house Alde. It appeared that they were nobility that branched off from the powerful house.
Alex worked himself to the bone. He found backhanded methods to get the training he needed from all sorts of shady individuals. It was around this time that he discovered his gift within the Force and developed an interest in Sith culture. He stumbled upon a deceased Sith Master, who resided in a darksided artifact that taught him the basics he needed to know. He would do jobs for them and in return of his success' he would receive training. He ended up having to steal his food and his credits for shelter which ultimately was a hit against his pride. He was ashamed and knew that he needed to achieve more.
Finding that a Tessar was close by, Alex could taste his revenge. The girls parents may have died by this time, but he was determined to ruin the life of the precious child they had left behind. If he was going to truly commit he needed to protect his true identity and his past. Finally the time had come. It was a dark scene when he came home to his father, drunken throwing things across the kitchen. He did not kill his father quickly.
He applied to become a guard for house Alde, and succeeded after much trial and effort. He was in no rush however. He had quite the thought out and patient plan to extract his revenge. He met Maelri Tessar at a nearby cantina and it was not hard to win her heart with a "genuine" smile flashed at the right time. They dated for a year and a half and when he became an honor guard of House Alde he romantically proposed.
From an outsiders perspective, the two were perfect for each other. Alex seemed like a loyal husband that would put his life on the line for his wife. The two enjoyed three years of marriage together in which he fully cultivated her trust and created a dependency between the two. However, in truth it was one sided.
First, to completely destroy her, he needed to take away what she cherished most. Him.
Alexander led his "Alderaanian Rose" to quite the romantic, anniversary date that was located in a naturally lit cave. It was unique in the sense that the life that grew within this cave was naturally luminescent. The two were there for a couple hours. Alex could barely contain his excitement, however Maelri had misunderstood his outwardly emotion as happiness between the two of them.
He had set a clever trap, one that had to be activated by Maelri. He had predicted that she would want to walk around and observe the vegetation within the cave because of it's unique properties. She had a curious soul. While exploring Maelri set off a chain reaction that caused a cave in. Alex acted brilliantly in his valiant success in saving the noble, however he purposely did not throw her completely out of harms way. She suffered a deep gash across her once beautiful face, a memento to remind her of him. It was no silent "death" Alex made sure that the one time that he called for help to Mae, she would not be able to give it. It would be her fault that she could not save the one that she loved. His pleads and cries were convincing as he pretended to be in immense pain for the last few moments of his life. With the help of his underground friends and with the use of the Force to avoid actually dying in the cave in they leaved behind a deceased nobody in his place and Alex retreated back to the underground with his mentor. He destroyed the artifact his mentor resided in and killed them all. He wanted no witnesses and wanted to clear his past from him before moving to the Sith.
He had succeeded, but was not done. Through Maelri's and his own marriage, Alex had found a very interesting piece of information about Maelri's parents... The ones that had destroyed Alex's life. Snooping around in the Tessar estate he found a hidden room with a holocron that seemed to have rather unique properties, Alex believed that Maelri herself was unaware of its existence. Alex needed to use a piece of Mae's DNA to active it. When it did he found out the truth of what had happened.
His family was hired to capture the Tessars, not work with them. They still failed... The fault was the Barsails not the Tessars and that left a deep rage in his core. His family he was so proud of , the one he watched crumble was due to their own incompetence. He came from a family line of fools.
The holocron showed that their bloodline held a unique ability that reacted with a specific breed of Force Crystals. The effects were out-worldly and powerful - there was no question why the Sith were after them. Alex had decided previously to apply as an Acolyte in the Sith Empire but now he had a little bit more motivation. He took the holocron with him.
Getting accepted into the Sith was easy, his mentality was already twisted and his abilities had been sharpened.
It did not take Alex, now temporarily going by "Lars" long to make new connections and contacts through his networking. He built a powerbase and to test it, he set a bounty on Maelri - not out of spite but because he thought it would be amusing.
It did not take him long to best his Master he had already learned what he needed to know himself - and attained the rank of Sith Knight. It was then that he had the permission needed to access the level he needed in the archives on the files related to the artiusian crystals. They were old, outdated and considered non-vital. He took all of the information and then corrupted the file.
He did not care so much for ruining Tessar's life any further. The many years that passed and quelled his misplaced hatred for her. He heard that the bounty had been cleared and made no means to place a new one on. However - he unexpectedly still needed a sample of her blood in order to activate the catalyst that would release the crystal that he had recently found the location of.
He took all of his new forces he had gained and raided Maelri's old Alderaanian home. He did not expect the massive amount of Jedi that had been guarding her? No, it seemed she had made new friends and since they split apart - she had become his natural enemy. A Jedi herself. He lost many but succeeded in kidnapping her with a large display of power. When he took off his helmet and revealed his face Maelri was too shocked to fully resist. To his surprise and amusement it seemed that she had managed to move on, as he watched her new husband Zach Shalluat desperately call out to her with futile attempts.
He brought Maelri to a small sect of GE Industries © where he at the time conducted his experiments in peace. He coated the ritualistic crystal with Sith Poison, a little gift for the Jedi later and nonchalantly stabbed Mae through her hand with the crystal. He ignored her for the most part - while the crystal reacted with her bloodline and absorbed what it needed. Afterwards, he knocked her unconscious and dragged her into a kolto tank to keep her out of trouble. He wanted a backup crystal, two of them and for Maelri to survive the rough ritualistic procedure he needed to wait.
He did not have time unfortunately. The Jedi had resources that Alex was unaware of and managed to find his location before he could begin the second procedure. He was nearly brought down by the owner of the Blasters Bastion, and in a desperate attempt to escape he jumped from the window and heavily injured himself during the fall.
He managed to crawl to safety, only truly surviving thanks to the kindness of a bystander who saw him fall.
Alex was angry that he was not able to secure the backup crystals that he wanted. Everything would need to be perfect and he had to act very carefully to achieve true success. After the death of Darth Nox and Darth Carnificina, Alex refused to let the Sith fall. He claimed the title of Dark Lord of the Sith - his actions, resources and leadership had placed him at the top. He took his grandfathers name, the only respectable member of the Barsails he regained his family resources and nobility, while creating a new identity for himself. Darth Chadwick.
All he truly needed was one tainted Artusian crystal for his scientific plans. Despite Darth Chadwicks evil methods, his overal goal was pure. He would not stop until he discovered a way to use the artusian crystals for unlimited energy, but even more interesting, the scientist expected that it may be possible to permanently gift another person with force sensitivity.
He was searching for a way to obtain more of these crystals - they were rare and hard to find. Alex heard rumors of a black market auction on Mek-sha that may have had some of these crystals available. His information did not check out unfortunately but he found something much greater then the crystals. He found his love for cosmos and the love of his life - Sanna Vyrex, otherwise known as Darth Vixxen.
Their relationship started out as something fake, all it simply was , was a political powermove but the passionate, fiery and ruthless woman genuinely stole his heart. They ruled together and with their combined strength - no one could stand in their way.
Darth Chadwick spent much time cultivating and educating the Sith. Darth Vulkan, Zeddicus Arrowood was the one who replaced him as Dark Lord. His student spared the man due to his scientific prowess. Chadwick did not mind, he knew that Vulkan was fit to lead and this gave him more time to delve into his research.
He took many risks when it came to his experiments and he did not come out unscathed. In an accident the Sith received immense radiation poising which heavily effected his ability. Darth Maestys was the first to notice what happened, due to his selfish need of Chadwick's abilities. If something happened to Alex, Maestys would not be able to accomplish is goal. Darth Maestys attempted to help Darth Chadwick to no avail. During this moment of weakness it was when Lord Starshifter made her move. She knew that she needed to defeat Chadwick in order to obtain Darth and this, was the perfect opportunity. Before Starshifter ended him, Lord Tamika attempted to assault the now ascended Darth Karza, who had already been weakened by Chadwick. Chadwick's time with his wife must have softened and weakened his heart for he defended Karza unfortunately suffering a lethal injury.
He made his way back home to his wife, who knew something was wrong. Alex collapsed onto their favorite cuddling couch and one last time, embraced his wife. He before, had just gotten her a present, a small jeweled necklace and gifted it to her. She attempted to heal him but it was already to late. Through hazed tears the two of them said their goodbyes, Alex's heart filled with regret, knowing that the last time he would see the love of his life's face, it would be an expression of pain and sadness. He would come back to her. No matter what.
With the last bit of his energy, before his life flickered away he used an ability he studied greatly but had never actually attempted before. It was now or never. He casted transfer essence and implanted his consciousness on the necklace. His wife organized for his tomb to reside on Dromund Kaas, to pay her respects she left the necklace he had given her inside the tomb and left the Sith.
It was around this time that Darth Vulkan had made quite the interesting decision. He decided to merge the remaining Sith with the Systems CommonWealth. Vulkan was a progressive man and he believed that it was for the greater good. He stepped down after the merge and went into hiding, pursuing a career as an information broker.
There were a couple Sith that did not agree with Vulkan's progressive movement. It was Darth Maestys that stood up and proclaimed himself as the Emperor of the Sith and began to pick up the left over pieces of the now once again, fallen Empire. Through much effort Maesty's managed to ward the CommonWealth from a small sector of space, protecting Kaas, Korriban and Ziost from the CommonWealth influence.
Darth Chadwicks apprentice.. Martin Shenda had run through a string of bad luck after his Masters death. He foolishly visited his grave and in a moment of anger and weakness he complained about his lack of power. Due to the amulet that Vixxen left behind - he after death managed to cling onto the physical world, his spirit emerged and confronted his apprentice. Darth Chadwick tricked him and in the end attempted to posses the Mirialan boy through transfer essence. He would live again.
It failed, Alex underestimated Martin's sheer willpower and once he entered his mind was crippled by despair, he sensed a familiar, dark ripple through the Force. His wife... was dead. Before he was defeated - Chadwick managed to secure a corner of his subconscious in which Chadwick haunted the boy for six long years due to the fact that Martin decided to keep the Sith as a prisoner for his information. It was a complicated relationship but eventually the two learned to work together for Martin had much he could learn from Chadwick and Chadwick had much he needed to accomplish.
Finally, the time came. Chadwick managed to force control of Martin just long enough during an encounter with Emperor Maestys to show that he was still alive. Maestys forced Martin into a political position during a Sith summit where he could not deny allowing Chadwick to transfer into another body in which he preformed a facial reconstruction to regain his old appearance.
Darth Chadwick was back, he took his spot as the Emperors advisor and voice, and proceeded in aiding him with a multitude of dangerous missions. In time the two cultivated a relationship of mutual respect and loyalty.
They needed more Sith. The Mandalorians had just returned in full swing and this did not bode well for the Empire. Darth Maestys and Chadwick alongside a couple Sith apprentices attempted to assault and kidnap Jedi Padawans and initiates. Martin had ended up aligning with the CommonWealth and due to Chadwick being a constant bystander her knew where they were taken to get their very first crystal. It would be easy pickings as long at the Emperor stuck to the script. He didn't. Immediately Maestys ignored the plan and attempted to attack Emperor Rhade who was personally overseeing the Pilgrimage.
The dynamic was ruined and the Sith began to lose the battle. Alex ordered a tactical retreat and stayed behind to allow the Sith to safely leave. He in full confidence planned to follow but.. Emperor Rhade's taunts distracted him and caused him to fatally make a wrong move. A mere Padawan disarmed him and he was cornered by the dangerous man called Gaheris. Alex did not stand a chance, unarmed against the CommonWealth Emperor and he was struck down.
He was transferred to cell and faced the Mandalore Akaa, a man who Alex greatly feared and the Emperor who's raw ability and power he greatly misjudged. He was given two choices - either he could join the CommonWealth, as himself. Emperor Rhade explained there was no reason why his experiments could not continue through the right forum, his noble family would be re-instated and he would receive personal training for the Emperor saw that Alex still had room to grow. The other option was that they would take his memories away and force him to join. Chadwick felt helpless and at the two men's mercy. His pride and loyalty to the Empire was his greatest flaw, he refused to bend the knee to Rhade even in a lie.
---
When Alex awoke, he knew nothing. Rhade informed him that he had been in an accident which resulted in the loss of his memories. He was told that he was a CommonWealth Padawan, apprenticed under himself personally and that his name was Alexander Basileus. Alex had no reason not to believe the man and slowly, with his guidance Alex began to get his bearings back.
He began to cultivate many friendships in the temple and began to build relationships of real trust. A privilege Chadwick did not in the past, have the chance to make.
Still he desperately searched for answers in his spare time. He made friends with a Mandalorian named Pax'tal who helped sneak him out of the order against Rhades instruction in an attempt to find information. He did, he met both Darth Reyael and Darth Maestys who instead of helping him in his time of need took the opportunity to have a little fun. In the end the two Sith left him alone and instructed Alex on where to find them after he questioned his CommonWealth Masters, now knowing that he had somehow been lied to.
It was around this time that he ran into his daughter who, during his time as a Sith he had been training extensively to help her with her underworld career. He would not force his daughter into a culture and life that she did not want for herself. As evil as Chadwick used to be during his time in the Sith he still deeply loved and cared for his family. He did his best not to show it for her protection for, he had many enemies.
Emperor Rhade had given the key to Alex's memories to his daughter, leaving it in her hands to decide when it was appropriate to give them back to the dangerous Sith. The moment she informed him of their relation and his condition lasted a very long time, the two sitting in an uncomfortable silence. After a heartwarming exchange Alex felt like he finally belonged somewhere. Even though Yabbis had the key to his memories, she did not have the technology needed to actually return them. He promised his daughter he would do nothing dangerous and did exactly that - taking Pax once more to hunt down the blonde woman who he knew had something to do with his past.
Alex put the Mandalorian in a very awkward position. He had not realized that he was walking into a den of Sith, Pax's natural enemy. Alex had a chance to walk away but he *needed* to know who he was. Like the good friend he was, the Mandalorian stayed by his side when the Sith Master regained himself.
Once it was apparent that Chadwick was back, Pax stealthed and got the fuck out. As he was surrounded by the familiar faces of the past, he turned to his old apprentice who had called him pathetic and grabbing onto his face, point blank force blasting him into the farthest wall. That was all he needed to do to reassure both the Emperor and Empress of the Empire.
The second thing he did, was make a cosmo. It was then that the Emperor decided that he needed to punish Alex for his weakness and insubordination. Alex caught the Emperors attempted punch and nearly crippled the man with his empowered grip. Maesty's was only saved by ultimate embarrassment due to the fact that Reyael had called the twins, Elnik and Alethia Var.
Both Maesty's and Reyael's children ran to him. His heart swelled with happiness, he had missed the little bastards greatly and embraced them picking them up after a ruthless nuggie. He was the one who was personally overseeing their training and in time had become part of the family as an uncle figure. He got lost in through. He did organize a plan, while stuck in the deathly cold CommonWealth cell before his memories were erased. He was going to have to rely on his base instincts and intelligence. He knew himself well and his determination, curiosity and thirst for knowledge was great. He would gain his memories back, but the rest of the CommonWealth would still think that he had no idea who he was. A perfect opportunity. One thing went wrong. He had a witness. Pax'tal. This boded a problem for him, he had already escaped. Killing him was not an option. All hope was not lost however, he could simply come clean. It would be a little bit more difficult then his original plan. He lacked patience and had great anger. He could continue to cultivate trust with the people on the inside of the CommonWealth by admitting to his past, sharing it and showing that he "genuinely" had been impacted by them. Hah. As if.
Darth Maestys, at angered embarrassed and hurt by Chadwick lashed out like a child and threw a bottle at a near by Sith Apprentice's face. Chadwick quickly put down the children snapping out of his plotting thought and caught the bottle. He put a little bit too much force into it and it shattered in his hand. Alex's nostrils flared and he lectured his old apprentice for throwing a childish tantrum while casually removing large shards of glass from his flesh. He paused and looked at the Sith Apprentice reflecting mild surprise. He had just protected a stranger.
The "Emperor" pouted at Alex and his eyes widened in pure rage. He felt no loyalty for this .. man baby. Why was he okay with him on the throne? Chadwicks scientific work had consumed him so much that he overlooked this? This behavior was unfit for a Sith. He looked at both the twins and Reyael, a sad smile rested on his features before he left, surprisingly conflicted. He would return to the CommonWealth and follow through his his plan of deception and think about Maestys' replacement. No matter what happened in the end, he would ensure that the twins remained safe.
When he returned to the CommonWealth the first thing he did was find his little witness. He had already booked an appointment to speak with Emperor Rhade and when he saw Pax, because of this he was able to manipulate him into becoming a little less hostile. He spread the news a little, to the right people so that soon, many would know and began to carefully begin to cultivate trust. Most of the CommonWealth were gullible fools. The only one that made him nervous was a young echani. Through reading his body language Chadwick could tell that Tectedo sensed something was off, a malice that Chadwick could not fully hide. He actively avoids this man.
He met with his Master, Emperor Rhade and explained the situation to him. He inquired if Rhade's original offer was still available. He managed to gain access once more to his resources, nobility and wealth.
It was not until he ran into High Councillor Tobias, that he truly became conflicted. The two had an old score to settle and it resulted in a dangerous and deadly match, leaving onlookers on their toes in debate if they should end it. Chadwick had to give it everything he had. He found himself having... fun and at the end. Despite him receiving severe injuries. He respected the mans power. He was a master of the darkside and Chadwick saw an opportunity for further growth and the pursuit of knowledge. He was the strongest in the Empire, but here? There were more challenges. Could he actually just, be himself?
He found himself giving genuine advice to his peers after that and he reflected greatly on his past. He realized that, he was happy as Alex. The relationships he forged were real. At the same time he felt disgusted, as Chadwick he was setting himself up for failure, he was becoming soft, weak. He could continue his research with the CommonWealth... But what about the twins? Did he actually respect Emperor Rhade's leadership? Had he given up on the Empire? Was the true Empire the CommonWealth? The only thing he knew for sure is that his loyalty for Maestys had dissolved due to his unprofessionalism. He had in the past been ruthless when facing traitors of the Sith Empire. Chadwick showed no mercy. The fact that he was even slightly considering defecting... He was intimidated, and torn. His daughter lied to him about being Sith when he was an amnesiac. Alex truly cared about how she felt. He used to only care for himself. Vixxen changed him. The twins changed him. Yabbis changed him. The CommonWealth was changing him. Who was he really?
For now he would keep the details of his internal struggle to himself pressing forward with the pretense of deception.
